Service Description
Why wouldn't you train the situation you are most likely going to find yourself in as an officer. At best this topic is glossed over in the academy and never revisited. Foot pursuits are one of the most common instances where officers are serious hurt or killed. We can prioritize catching the bad guy without sacrificing poor tactics in the process. This course covers fundamental principles required to prepare yourself for an engagement during a foot pursuit. This course also gives officers the information they need to identify pre-engagement indicators the suspect is displaying. Pre engagement indicators provide you valuable information which tell you that serious bodily injury or death is imminent. These indicators allow the officer to begin cycling through the OODA Loop process sooner, getting them as close as possible to the tactical advantage. Officers learn how to prepare and respond solo and with a partner during a foot pursuit. Officers will also cover communication, coordinating follow on units, and suspect approaches. This is a force on force/force on target class. Simunition equipment will be provided if necessary.
